A fellow co-worker Jane had worked the previous day with another co-worker(Beth) that left early that day to see the doctor and was diagnosed with scabies. Jane had told me of the outbreak just as a heads up and to make sure I wash everything down to prevent more diseases. My question is shouldn’t my supervisor have told me of the outbreak? Is my employer required to when the illness pertains to such a contagious disease? I am in AZ if needed to be known.

Scabies cant be treated by washing stuff down. Scabies needs to be reported to the state, especially if working in a nursing care or food facility. You would need to use that special medicated lotion by doctors prescription. Good luck.

Scabies is highly contagious and your boss should have informed every one.YOU anonymously call the health dept. and report this now.My Son was in the hospital and contracted scabies. Our whole family got them and it was very time consuming to treat our linens, furniture, carpets and us.I ended up buying new linens and hired a professional to clean the carpets and purchased an expensive Rx spray for the furniture.Cost?Over $200.00
I reported the Hospital! E
