How many people really pay attention to the ingredients in skin care/makeup products?

I’m very curious to know how many people really understand how important ingredients are in cosmetics and skin care. Everything we put on our bodies gets absorbed into the blood stream and cause illness/diseases/even cancers. We get what we pay for and this is not an area to look for cheap products. i’ve already tried proactive and found that it didn’t help any more than stuff you can buy from the drug store for a wayy cheaper price.
